Google is
bringing the opportunity to sell products directly on the YouTube platform.
Many content creators put links to various products below their videos for
extra income. But every such link takes YouTube users off the platform. Google
wants to make YouTube a 'one-stop shopping destination,' according to technology
blog Engadget. As a result, the content of YouTube content creators may change.
The company
has also sought the help of content creators for this purpose. They have asked
some content creators to tag their products on the YouTube platform. Google's
main goal is to get users to buy everything they see on YouTube. At the same
time, the search giant is testing its new integration with the e-commerce
platform Shopify.
The news was
first reported on YouTube by the US trade media Bloomberg. A YouTube spokesperson
later confirmed that Bloomberg's news was true. The company further said that
the control of any product being shown on the manufacturers' channel will be in
the manufacturers' hands.
