For the first time in a decade, Wikipedia is changing the design

Wikipedia has been serving as an online encyclopedia for almost 20 years. This time, for the first time in a decade, the design of the desktop version is going to change.

Technology site Verge reports that the Wikimedia Foundation is changing the design to make the site more attractive to new customers.

Customers can now learn about the new features offered in the MediaWiki post. The Wikimedia Foundation has also shared some of the new design GIF animations.

One of the new features is the compressible sidebar on the left. This feature of hiding the sidebar with the button will not distract the customer from the original text. This will also limit the number of irrelevant content and links on the left.

A one-click button is also being added to the new design to change the language of the page.

Wikipedia is also working to improve the search tool. The site is also changing the configuration to reduce the size of the logo on the Wikipedia page.

In a blog post, the Wikimedia Foundation said, "These changes will be made gradually over a long period of time." Customers will be able to test the new features before they are officially unveiled.

Before the end of 2021, Wikipedia wants to change the whole design of the desktop version. The company did not say whether the mobile version will have the same design.
