FBCCI President Sheikh Fazle Fahim highlighted the potential of investing in Bangladesh for Qatari investors.

He highlighted the opportunities for boosting bilateral trade in a webinar titled 'Bilateral and Coordinating Opportunities between Qatar and Bangladesh' jointly organized by Bangladesh Forum Qatar and Doha Bank on Wednesday.

The FBCCI President said, “Both countries should look forward to increasing investment in economic zones including tax and tariff incentives to increase bilateral trade opportunities with Bangladesh and Qatar, considering Bangladesh as a very promising country.

"Potential Qatari investors can plan to invest in potential sectors such as energy, power, infrastructure, technology, halal ecosystems, renewable energy, start-ups, innovative knowledge, and resource sharing for the country's economic development."

"Everything except arms has duty-free and quota-free (DFQF) access to several additional markets through the European Union, India, China, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the Asia-Pacific Trade Agreement," Fahim said.

Naser Ejaz Vijay, CEO of Standard Chartered Bank of Bangladesh, said, “Investing in government bonds is a great opportunity. Because the currency is quite stable, there is good success in Bangladesh. Qatari banks and other financial institutions can invest as there is a lot of liquidity in the capital market.

Bangladesh Ambassador to Qatar Ashud Ahmed said, “Traditionally, Bangladesh-Qatar relations depend on labor. The Government of Bangladesh is providing excellent facilities and incentives for potential investors in different countries of the world. Qatar can look at Bangladesh ... Bangladesh itself is a big market and a bridge between South Asia and Southeast Asia. ”

Doha Bank CEO R. Sitharaman said in the webinar, “We are familiar with exchanges and refunds and institutions can invest in the same way. We are now going to invest in liquidity in Bangladesh. ”
