The proposal to appoint African-American General Charles Brown as
the Air Force's chief of staff was unanimously passed by a Senate vote on
Tuesday. Last May, the Armed Services Committee approved Brown's nomination.
According to Reuters, Charles Brown is the first black man to lead
the United States Armed Forces. Brown has recently served in the U.S. Pacific
Air Force. He is a fighter pilot.
"My decision has now been approved by the Senate," he
said in a tweet announcing that President Donald Trump had nominated Brown in
March.
