Sony has unveiled a new version of the 'Imaging Edge Webcam' software for the Mac operating system. As a result, Mac computer users will use the company's latest cameras as high-quality webcams. |
Sony released a version of this software for Windows computers in August this year. Technology site Verge reports that the new version allows Mac customers to use high-quality video calls using Sony's cameras.
The company said the new software would work with 36 Sony cameras, including the latest E-Mount and A-Mount series. Sony also said it would not support the software on older devices like the original A6 or A7000. However, the customer can manually connect these to the Mac computer using the HDMI capture card. Canon, Olympus, Panasonic, Fujifilm, and GoPro have already launched their own webcam software. Sony is one of the camera companies at the bottom of the list. |
