Foxconn is looking to supply parts for electric vehicles

Foxconn has focused on supplying or servicing electric vehicle parts. The world's largest contract technology manufacturer has already held talks with several car manufacturers.

Foxconn aims to supply or service 10 percent of the world's electric vehicle parts between 2025 and 2026.

Foxconn, a contract manufacturer of several companies, including Apple. The company is looking to expand its business in electric vehicles, digital health, and robotics to diversify global investment.

"We want to expand Taiwan's EV sector to the rest of the world," Foxconn chairman Liu Young-Wei said Friday.

In January this year, carmaker Fiat Chrysler said it was planning a joint venture with Foxconn to build electric cars and Internet-connected vehicles in China.

Foxconn will work with multiple manufacturers to meet 10 percent or about 3 million of the global electric vehicle sector.

Liu did not comment on the EV business's revenue targets, citing ongoing discussions.

Foxconn also plans to launch its own solid-state battery for electric vehicles in 2024.
