Huawei will accelerate digital transformation in Asia-Pacific

 

Huawei Connect has focused on building a growing ecosystem and providing problem-centered solutions to build a future intelligent society in the Asia-Pacific region. In an online conference with journalists in the region on Friday (September 25), Huawei outlined its role in digital transformation.

During the exchange of views, Huawei Asia Pacific Vice President J. Chen said, "The global FiveG network has expanded in 2020, resulting in a tremendous potential for digital transformation in the Asia-Pacific region in connectivity, computing, cloud, AI, and applications."

"The integration of these five tech domains could completely change the structure of transport, finance, energy, or any other sector and create new opportunities for the region," he said.

According to the IDC Worldwide Semi-Annual Digital Transformation Spending Guide, more than 360 billion has been spent on digital transformation in the Asia Pacific in 2019. Between 2017 and 2022, its annual compound growth rate is expected to be 16.4 percent.

"Asia-Pacific is the fastest growing economy in the world, housing 80 percent of the world's population and about 50 percent of the world's Internet users," said Chen. Not only is this region of our ideal for developing technological innovations, but there is an unprecedented opportunity to move forward using the maximum utility of modern technology through a seamless combination. ’

At the Asia Pacific Ascent Ecosystem Online Forum on Friday, Huawei said the purpose of the APAC Ascent Partner program is to create innovative and sustainable ecosystems, working with more than 100 ISV partners and with the Institute of Higher Learning and the Institute in the region.

Their APAC Ascend Partner Program, which is active in building innovative and sustainable AI ecosystems, has received more than 100 ISV partners and signed MoUs with more than 28 higher learning institutions and government agencies across the region.

To meet the workforce challenge, Huawei has taken various steps across the Asia-Pacific region, including Huawei ASEAN Academy in Malaysia and AI Academy in Singapore, to educate and train technology professionals to further their future careers. So far, Huawei has established more than 103 ICT academies in the region.

At the event, Jay Chen pledged to create at least 200,000 professional ICT workers from the Asia-Pacific region within the next five years.
