Four final year students of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at Savar Mass University (GUB) have invented a robot capable of performing the tasks of a nurse, including measuring human body temperature and providing all patient information to a doctor. As part of the departmental project, the work was completed at a cost of about 40,000 rupees.
Today, Thursday (September 24), the head of the department and the concerned students confirmed the matter to the journalists.
The students who took part in this inspiring innovation are- Team Leader Durga Pramanik, Mausumi Kana, Sumna Akhter, and Afrin Ahmed Brishti. They said the robot was named Avery (ABHWR), which stands for 'Advanced Biopola Humanoid Walking Robot'.
About the specialty of the robot, they said, it can work as a receptionist in an office beside the work of a nurse. At the same time, the robot is capable of various tasks online. It can also work offline as it has a Bluetooth connection. This special robot is also able to walk and talk.
Concerned people said that the work started on January 25 this year in a laboratory called Niribili adjacent to the campus. The work was completed on the 9th of this month after a delay of 3 months due to corona. After some process, it was opened in its department on September 21.
Shelia Rahman, a teacher in the CSE department, was appointed as the supervisor to complete the work. Roina Afroz Annie, a teacher in the same department, works as a co-supervisor. The technical assistance was also provided by Ujjwal Sarkar, who has been playing a key role in various innovations of the university in recent times.

According to him, this kind of excellent work comes from the students. Our students are exceptionally competent, as evidenced by this innovation.
Some more work is going on to develop it. Everyone who worked behind the robot is a girl. The girls are not lagging in any part, it is proof of that. '
Incidentally, in October last year, 6 students of the same department together created a nationwide sensation by inventing a robot named 'Mira'.
